Overview
There are various signs that can help you recognize the need for relationship counselling, such as –
• When you are unable to express your feelings to your partner,
• When you are not able to make decisions together,
• When you want to build a stronger relationship with your partner,
• When there has been a stressful event that has affected your life,
• When you have one or more than one disagreements unsolved,
• When you have experienced abuse, addiction, or infidelity from your partner,
• When there is contempt, criticism, or withdrawal in your interactions.
Relationship counselling isn’t limited to only married couples but can be applied to people who live together, are in non-monogamous relationships, siblings who are dealing with family issues, or even the relationship between business partners. Also, there are no wrong reasons to approach a counsellor for relationship counselling. This is because it isn’t just about solving problems that couples themselves cannot fix, but also helps couples to build a strong foundation for their relationship and prevent problems from developing later on in their relationships. It also teaches each individual essential relationship skills that enhance all their other relationships as well.
