Indian Startup Times reported on Cadabams Group's $7.3 million (Rs 65 crore) investment in MindTalk, its AI-powered digital mental health platform, calling it one of the largest deep-tech initiatives in India's mental health sector. MindTalk pairs three decades of clinical expertise with a clinician-supervised deep agent model to deliver personalised therapy support, preventive screening and real-time mood tracking nationwide.

In a major step toward integrating technology with mental wellness, Cadabams Group, one of India's leading mental healthcare institutions, has invested $7.3 million (Rs 65 crore) in its newly launched digital mental health platform, MindTalk. Indian Startup Times described the investment as one of the largest deep-tech initiatives in India's mental health sector, combining Cadabams' three decades of clinical expertise with cutting-edge AI and deep learning.

Where the investment goes

The funds will be deployed over the next 12 to 18 months to strengthen MindTalk's AI infrastructure, expand its deep learning capabilities and enhance clinical research integration.

A clinically supervised deep agent

MindTalk's deep agent model blends large language models, conversational AI and adaptive learning systems, all trained under the close supervision of clinical experts. Unlike generic AI wellness apps or self-help chatbots, it offers clinically validated, evidence-based interventions aligned with professional healthcare standards.

"With MindTalk, we are building a clinically intelligent digital companion that can bring structured mental healthcare to anyone with a smartphone, without losing the rigor and empathy of real-world therapy," said Sandesh Cadabam of Cadabams Group.

A hybrid model of care

The launch reinforces Cadabams' vision of broadening access to mental healthcare through a hybrid model that combines in-person expertise with digital innovation. Cadabams Hospitals currently operates 42 centres across India and the Maldives, has treated over 275,000 patients, and plans to scale to 150 to 160 centres with 3,500 beds in the coming years.

MindTalk will serve as a digital extension of that clinical ecosystem, using AI-driven insights to offer personalised therapy support, preventive mental health screening and real-time mood tracking for users nationwide. By integrating deep tech with clinical psychology, the report noted, Cadabams aims to bridge gaps in access, affordability and personalisation, setting a benchmark for how traditional healthcare institutions can use AI to scale their impact.

Care at Cadabam's Hospitals

MindTalk extends the reach of care, but it rests on the same clinical foundation that has guided Cadabam's since 1991. If you or someone you love needs support, our psychiatrists and counselling teams are here to help, in person and online.
